The Dining Room
Hey y’all! What better way to start off this blog than with one of my FAVORITE DIYs I have done. This one, I did (mostly) all by myself. The sweet hubby always steps in to help with sanding. As far as the cuts, caulking, filling, and painting, it was all me baby. Makes a girl proud!
First things first, deciding how many panels I wanted. I got me some painters tape and went at it! I literally just started making half boxes on the wall. My husband thought I lost my mind because it 100% looked crazy. I wanted pretty big photos, and I love a balanced look. The empty panels with three pictures in the middle just seemed like the obvious answer. I for sure recommend playing around with some blue painters tape to give you better visual (;
I wanted to do this as cheap as I could have course, and a big chunk of my budget went to the actual picture frames I used. I decided to use 1/4 in plywood for this and have Lowes strip in down to the width I prefered. I don’t have a table saw, so this was just easier for me that trying to use my circular saw to strip it. I used my miter saw to cut the lengths I needed.
Paneling is up, and its time to choose a paint color. I believe everyone wanted me to do a pop of color, but I just wasn’t in love with the idea. Alabaster was speaking to me. All white wall with dimension, and my family photos being the focal point. Seriously, follow your heart because this room makes me so happy!
